Paola Di Fraia★★★★★

"There are two paths to arrive here from Zinal one is shorter but definitely more challenging. The views at the end are worth it. We just stopped to have something to drink after the long walk (as many mountain huts is cash only so arrive prepared) the terrace is very nice and staff is friendly."

"Lovely hut with pretty incredible views on (sadly melting) Zinal glacier. The walk there would take longer than indicated for most of the people although doable with the kids. Gorgeous views across the valley. The team is friendly and they have some simple yet hearty food and ice cream to reward oneself after the climb :)"

"Perfect small hut for a first overnight stay in a hut for a child. Rooms for 4 people. Great views and relaxed environment. Can be reached from zinal through a rather large path/road or a more "fun" small path (still very doable for a child)."

"We stayed for 2 nights with our 3 year old. Parked at Zinal for 5CHF/24H. Hike was simple and doable for kids, would recommend taking the single track up and the double track down. We stayed in a 6 bed dorm, sleeping bag liners are required or rent for 5CHF. Dinner was delicious, felt home cooked with love. It was 4 course (salad, soup, main and dessert) with the option of topping up the main if you’re still hungry. Picnic available for 15CHF (2 sandwiches, bar and apple). Family that runs the cabane are warm and friendly and attentive. Our room did not have an electrical plug (but noticed some rooms had them) but we were able to charge our devices in the dining area. Tap water is portable. Beautiful lake (Lac d’Arpitetta) about 1.5h away, would highly recommend."

"Truly excellent place for families. Fantastic views, games for kids, warm showers, friendly, welcoming and multilingual staff, and cleaner than any other hut I have ever stayed in. Great food too, with local produce and fresh bread at breakfast. Switzerland may not be cheap, but that doesn't mean it can't be great value for money."
